Above: picture of the same Dimetrodon upper part of neural spine in frontal view, it is visible the groove(G), presumably carrying a bloodvessel. This groove is present both frontally and posteriorly, and it gives to the spine, in cross section, an "8" shape. From Ryan Sandstone, Wellington Formation, near Waurika - Jefferson Co. Oklahoma.
