PARAREPTILIA

 

Parareptilia is group of amniotes characterized by a single embayment in the posterior margin of the skull, large supratemporal, swollen neural arches, in general there is a tendence to reduce the supraoccipital and the tabular and to locate the jaw joint anterior to the occiput. The presence of an anterolateral maxillary foramen is common.
